Europe
Europe is one of the continents that make up the Eurasian super-continent, the borders of Europe and its population are subject to controversy, since the term continent can refer to a cultural and political asset or to physio graphic distinctions, Europe is the second smallest continent in terms of area. Of all European countries, Russia is the largest in area (at the same time as it is the largest internationally recognized sovereign state in the world), while Vatican City is the smallest (at the same time it is the sovereign state and internationally recognized smallest in the world). Europe is the fourth most populated continent after Asia, Africa and America, with a population of 740 813 959 (year 2015) or around 10.03% of the world population.
Since ancient times, many of the main architectural trends developed throughout Europe, even beyond its borders. In the 1st millennium BC, the Greeks founded colonies throughout the Mediterranean, followed by the Romans; they exported their architecture, sculpture, and literature to the countries they occupied. Europe is the birthplace of modern football. In the mid-19th century rules were created in England, and a few years later it spread throughout the continent thanks to students, engineers, sailors, soldiers, and businessmen.
